OCCUPIED AL-QUDS, Aug.31, (ST)- Israeli occupation forces have detained at least 22 people from the occupied West Bank over the past two days, including a journalist, a woman, and several children, as well as former prisoners.
According to a joint statement from the Palestinian Authority’s Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS), this surge in detentions occurred as the Israeli military continues its wide-scale offensive in the northern West Bank, specifically in the Jenin province.
The statement added that the number of detainees has risen to approximately 70 since the commencement of the Israeli military offensive in the north of the region. This figure includes confirmed cases, with the ongoing Israeli military offensive suggesting that the actual number may be higher.
According to the statement, over 10,300 Palestinians have been detained from the West Bank, including Jerusalem, since the onset of the relentless Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people in October 2023..
