Zakharova: Escalation is NATO’s goal behind calling for increased aid to Ukraine

Moscow, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova considered NATO’s call to increase aid to the Kiev regime as a call to continue the bloody battle, not to stop the escalation.

Commenting on NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte’s statement to increase aid to Kiev, Zakharova said, according to the Novosti Agency: It is necessary to make every effort by the alliance to ensure the combat capability of the Ukrainian army in order to change the course of the conflict.  She added that this call is not for calming the situation or for peace talks or a political and diplomatic way to resolve the situation, but rather a call to continue the bloody battle.

Rutte assumed his position as NATO Secretary General in early October, and in his first speech he called for increased aid to Kiev, and in a joint press conference with French President Emmanuel Macron yesterday, he reiterated his commitment to long-term support for aid in order to ensure Ukraine’s combat capability in changing the course of the conflict.
