“ Wattan Al-Ghar” choir in Lattakia celebrates Army Day

Withhope, challenge and determination of a number of the Syrian Army wounded Personnel  , they managed to overcome their injuries through music which has become the source of hope, happiness and starting life again for the members “Wattan Al-Ghar” choir in Lattakia

Marking  the 77th foundation anniversary of the Syrian Army Day, Dar Al-Assad for Culture in Lattakia hosted festivity entitled “ Peace be upon you”. The event was  organized by the Disabled and their Friends” Association in Lattakia , the Directorate of Culture there and Mahmoud Al-Ajjan Conservatory of Music

The event included performing musical pieces, patriotic songs and artistic paintings ,  which embodied the march and story of a homeland, presented by the Wattan Al-Ghar choir, students of the Mahmoud Al-Ajjan conservatory’s orchestra and a number of Syrian Arab Army personnel. 

Lattakia’s Director of Culture Mr. Majd Sarem said in a statement to the Syriatimes e-newspaper  “ the festivity had an influential impact, as it included the wounded heroes of the Syrian Arab Army in a distinguished national choir. Their wonderful talents are distinguished  despite their wounds

He stressed that they expressed  their loyalty to their dear homeland, Syria, as a tribute to their great sacrifices and their permanent ability to give.

Head of the “ Disabled and their friends” Association Mrs. Feryal Aqili indicated in a statement that  “The idea of ​​establishing the choir emerged from the work of our association, which was primarily concerned with serving and assisting the war-wounded, with the participation of a number of specialized doctors and psychiatrists” 

She added Every year the choir celebratethe Syrian Arab Army to express  the cohesion of the heroes , their presence everywhere and address a message to the world that music is their weapons against the war , the Syrian Arab Army can not be defeated and they are still able  to play effective part in their countries. 

In turn,  the conductor of the choir Maestro Hussein Salhab  said “ This festivity is different from other musical works of this kind. I have a story to tell through the voices of the wounded soldiers and young people, who were ready to sacrifice their lives to defend the present and the future of their country”.

He stressed this  this event is a token of love for the Syrian Arab Army and in honor of the wounded soldiers with the participation of students from Mahmoud Al-Ajjan conservatory for music orchestra’s students aged 9-16 with the aim of emphasizing the idea of ​​the convergence of generations in building and defending the homeland

In turn, the wounded Ibrahim Al-Tazh affirmed that the sincerity of the message emanating from the heart is able to give optimism and hope despite the injury and make the wounded refuse to feel helpless and to be armed with strong determination .

The two wounded Ibrahim Mustafa and Ali Kardoush stressed that life will continue and does not stop at injury , but rather continues with determination and hope for a better tomorrow.

A member of the Board of Directors of the “ Disabled and their friends”  Association Ahlam Deeb, indicated that for the fifth year in a row, the Association continues to train and embrace the wounded soldiers and encourage them to participate in national events that convey their message and heroism.
