US-Europe Relations a Kind of Master-Slave Relationship: Former Slovak PM

DAMASCUS, (ST)-Former  Slovak Prime Minister Jan Carnogursky, visiting Syria, has called on European governments to change their hostile stances towards Syria.

In  a statement to journalists after a meeting on Monday with Speaker of the Syrian People’s Assembly (PA) Hammouda al-Sabbagh in Damascus, Carnogursky said “the aim of my visit to Syria is to send a message to the Europeans telling them that they are too late and it is time to change their stances on Syria.”

The former Solvak Premier described the relation between the United States and the European countries as a kind of “master-slave” relationship, calling for putting an end to this disastrous relation and restoring the European-Syrian ties and affirming that the first step the Europeans need take is to end the brutal siege they have imposed on Syria.

He hailed the achievements made by the Syrian people and army in cooperation with Syria’s friends, mainly Russia, in the fight against West-backed terrorism.

During his meeting with Carnogursky and the accompanying delegation, PA Speaker Hammouda al-Sabbagh said that Syria’s complete victory over terrorism and its supporters is imminent, as the terrorist war which has been targeting the Syrian state was foiled thanks to the steadfastness of the Syrian people, army and leadership and the support of Syria’s allies and friends.

He expressed Syria’s appreciation over the stances of all the peace-loving and friendly peoples and countries which backed Syria against the conspiracy, stressing that the Syrians have offered great sacrifices to maintain the stability and sovereignty of their country.

Sabbagh noted the importance of European delegations’ visits to Syria in explaining the reality of the terrorist war imposed on Syria to the European public opinion given the huge campaign of disinformation launched by many western media outlets in Europe.

On his part, Carnogursky said that the Slovak delegation came to Syria, the cradle of civilizations and the country which has been resisting global terrorism, to voice solidarity with the Syrians. He pointed out that for the past three years, many civil society associations in Slovakia have been organizing monthly demonstrations in support for Syria in its battle against terrorism.
