UNRWA: Only three out of 18 water wells are still functioning in Gaza, resulting in an 85% water shortfall
NEW YORK – The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) said due to ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip, only three out of 18 water wells in Deir Al-Balah area are still functioning, resulting in an 85% water shortfall.
“Not only are people in Gaza in constant fear for their lives, but they struggle to meet even their most basic needs,” said UNRWA in a post on the X platform, according to WAFA News Agency.
“This is a complete stripping of humanity. A never-ending tragedy,” added UNRWA in another X post.
“Families across the Gaza Strip continue to be forced to flee, forced to leave their homes and belongings behind. All they can now do is try to stay alive.”
“People have lost absolutely everything,” stressed UNRWA, calling for an immediate ceasefire. “Ceasefire Now.”
