UNICEF spokesman Kazem Abu Khalaf revealed that 2,500 children in Gaza Strip need urgent medical evacuation to receive treatment abroad.
WAFA quoted Abu Khalaf as saying in a statement today: “The situation in the northern Gaza Strip is extremely difficult and tragic and is getting worse,” noting that 30 percent of children in the Gaza Strip suffer from severe malnutrition.
Abu Khalaf pointed out that 95 percent of schools housing displaced persons in the Gaza Strip were completely destroyed as a result of the ongoing Israeli aggression.
Since October 7, 2023, the occupation has been waging a war of extermination on the Strip, which has claimed the lives of more than 149,000 martyrs and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing, amid massive destruction and famine in one of the worst humanitarian disasters in the world.
The lives of the wounded and sick in the Gaza Strip are threatened by the occupation’s destruction of the health system and its prevention of the entry of aid, which makes tens of thousands of wounded and sick with chronic diseases in need of treatment outside the Gaza Strip, but the occupation closes all crossings and prevents them from traveling.
