New York, (ST) – The UN General Assembly voted with an overwhelming majority in favor of a resolution that stresses the right of the Palestinian people to self determination.
Wafa News Agency said that the UNGA adopted the right of the Palestinian people to self determination with the majority of 167 votes, while five states opposed and eleven abstained.
Palestinian permanent representative to the UN Riyad Manour said that the vote affirms that the Palestinians should practice their right to self determination through an independent Palestinian state.
He added that the vote reflects the great support of world countries for the just cause of the Palestinian people.
