Under the patronage of Mr. President, Lieutenant General Bashar Al-Assad, Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Armed Forces, the Directorate of Martyrs, Wounded, and Missing Persons Affairs, in cooperation with the Political Administration, held an honorary ceremony at Dar Al-Assad for Culture and Arts for the outstanding students in the basic and general secondary education certificates for the year 2023.
General Ali Mahmoud Abbas, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Armed Forces and Minister of Defense represented the president in the ceremony.
The ceremony began with a minute of silence in honor of the souls of our honorable martyrs, then the national anthem of the Syrian Arab Republic was played.
General Abbas delivered a speech in which he conveyed the President’s congratulations to the outstanding students and his heartfelt wishes for good health, success and excellence.
General Abbas pointed out that this honor carries great meaning and connotations because it comes in appreciation of the importance of educational attainment, and expresses the authenticity and belonging of this generation.
In his speech, General Abbas called on the outstanding students to continue working hard, persevere, and keep up with the latest findings in science, based on the fact that science and possessing the tools of creativity constitute the strongest foundation for building the nation and achieving prosperity.
During the ceremony, the outstanding students were honored and certificates were distributed, then a group of students from the Martyrs’ Girls Schools presented a folkloric artistic performance.
The celebration also included singing performances by the choir of the schools of the sons and daughters of the martyrs.
