Representative of UN Women in Palestine Marcy Guimond confirmed that the destruction in the Gaza Strip is great, and that entire families have been wiped out as a result of the ongoing Israeli aggression against it, stressing the necessity of stopping the war.
“Entire families were wiped out in the airstrikes on the Strip, and everyone you meet has terrible stories. You see devastation everywhere in Gaza, people are living in destroyed buildings, trying to get food and water, and then you see vast areas of tents,” Wafa Agency quoted Guimond as saying on x-platform following her recent visit to Gaza Strip.
Guimond pointed out that more than 10,000 women, including 6,000 mothers, have been martyred since the start of the aggression, leaving behind more than 19,000 orphan children, explaining that “it is time for this war to end.”
On the other hand, the British “Save the Children” organization reported that its estimates indicate that about 21,000 children are missing in Gaza, as a result of the Israeli war on the Strip.
UNICEF spokesman James Elder said in previous statements: The killing of children in Gaza and the destruction in Strip will not bring peace to children or the region, and that the impact that this war is having on young men and women confirms the prevailing belief that the war in Gaza “is a war on Children,” indicating that a ceasefire is the only solution.
