Two US-backed SDF militants killed in a confrontation with residents of a village in Deir Ezzor countryside

Two militants affiliated to the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) separatist militia were killed and three others were injured when the locals in the town of Abu Hamam in Deir Ezzor eastern countryside confronted a group of SDF militants who raided the town, broke into the houses and vandalized the residents’ properties.

Local sources told SANA on Saturday that some SDF groups stormed into the town with 50 cars and military vehicles carrying militants. They opened random fire on the houses of the citizens who rushed to defend themselves, their houses and their property. The confrontation resulted in the killing of two SDF militants, the injury of three others and the burning of two four-wheel drive vehicles that belong to the SDF militia, according to the sources.

The sources pointed out that the SDF militants blew up several houses in Al-Mouh neighborhood in the town of Abu Hamam, cordoned off the area with tens of vehicles and military cars and set up checkpoints at the entrances and exits of the town.
