ANKARA,(ST) _ Hundreds of Turkish demonstrators gathered on Saturday in the center of the capital Ankara expressing anger and rejection over the deployment of Patriot missiles batteries on the border between Turkey and Syria.
Reuters reported that about 150 Turkish citizens gathered in the downtown of the capital to denounce the deployment of these missiles, chanting “Let’s expel the US and NATO from our country and region.”
By the end of January, angry Turkish youngsters attacked German soldiers, who arrived to Turkey to run Patriot missile batteries in southern Turkey, in protest against the deployment of NATO missiles .
Moreover, Iskenderun and Adana witnessed overwhelming protests against the deployment of these missiles.
The hostile policies of the Turkish Justice and Development Party are met with widespread popular rejection in Turkey, especially in regard with NATO mission to deploy Patriot missiles in Turkey .
