The Tupolev Tu-144 aircraft, the world’s first commercial supersonic transport plane is on display at the MAKS-2015 international air show at the Zhukovsky airfield near Moscow.
The Tu-144 aircraft was constructed by Soviet engineers in the 1960s and was hailed as the first passenger airliner to break the sound barrier on June 5, 1969.
Nowadays there are only two models left and both are kept at the Zhukovsky airfield.
The show, which has brought together more than 700 companies from over 20 countries, including Russia’s leading arms and space corporations, kicked off on August 25 and runs through August 30.
