Third set of Al-Zara power plant put into service

Hama, (ST) –  The Ministry of Electricity put the third set of Al-Zara power plant in Hama province back into service, after completing maintenance works that took months.

In a statement to reporters, Minister of Electricity Ghassan Al-Zamel clarified today that the third set was fully maintained by national technical cadres and expertise, which saved the state huge expenses estimated at about 7 million euros if foreign experts were brought in to carry out maintenance work on the set’s equipment and machinery.

The station manager Ali Hassan stated that the third group became ready to operate immediately with a capacity of 210 megawatts after completing maintenance work, while the first and second sets, due to summer conditions and high temperatures, are currently producing about 180 megawatts.
