The Union of Palestinian Communities, Activities and Institutions in the Diaspora-Europe holds its 5th Conference in Damascus
Under the patronage of President Bashar Al-Assad, the Fifth General Conference of the Union of Palestinian Communities, Activities and Institutions in the Diaspora – Europe began on May 15th under the slogan (Covenant and Promise… to liberate the land) at Dar Al-Assad for Culture and Arts in Damascus.
The representative of the President, the Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab Socialist Baath Party, Hilal Al-Hilal, delivered a speech at the beginning of which conveyed the greetings of President al-Assad and his wishes for the members of the Congress to succeed in their tasks and achieve their goals.
Engineer Al-Hilal stressed that Palestine is our cause and the cause of all honorable people, and that Syria does not see Palestine as its central cause, but rather as its overall cause and the center of its existence.
Engineer Al-Hilal called for a realistic reading of the developments in the region and the world.
Engineer Al-Hilal added: “They thought that Syria would submit in a few months, but today, after all this time, Syria is still resisting and confronting, and it is more confident of victory.”
For his part, Head of the General Secretariat of the Union Dr. Radi Al-Shua’ibi stressed the need to adhere to the national constants and resistance to liberate the land and establish the Palestinian state and its eternal capital, Jerusalem.
The Secretary-General of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine Abu Ahmed Fouad stated that despite Western international support for the occupation entity, it is still living under the weight of crises on several levels.
The Secretary-General of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine Abu Ahmed Fouad said that the Palestinian people’s awareness of the nature of the conflict with the occupation entity and its essence is the constant motivator to keep the flame of resistance burning in all Palestinian areas.
The Secretary-General of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine – General Command, Dr. Talal Naji, spoke about the current circumstances in which the Palestinian cause is exposed, including attempts to legitimize the occupation in exchange for the massive popular uprising of the Palestinian people on the occupied lands.
The Secretary-General of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine – General Command, Dr. Talal Naji, called for benefiting from the conditions of the decline and retreat of the American project in the region and the world and the rise of international poles to support for the countries of the axis of resistance and the return of the Palestinian cause to the circle of international attention.
Member of the Political Bureau of the Lebanese Hezbollah, Hassan Hoballah, pointed out the importance of holding this conference in Damascus, the beating heart of Arabism, in conjunction with the heroic operations that Palestine is witnessing against the occupation.
The Greek Orthodox Archbishop of Sebastia, Archbishop Atallah Hanna, confirmed via video from Palestine that Damascus and Jerusalem are twins.
The Ambassador of the State of Palestine in Damascus, Samir Al-Rifai, pointed to the importance of the role of the members of the Union in working for the Palestinian cause in countries and societies.
During the opening ceremony, a documentary film on the establishment of the Union of Palestinian Communities, Activities and Institutions in the Diaspora – Europe and its previously conferences was shown.
The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Culture, Dr. Lubana Mushawah, the Special Adviser to the Presidency of the Republic, Dr. Buthaina Shaaban, the Chairman of the Syrian Arab People’s Committee for Supporting the Palestinian People and Resisting the Zionist Project, Dr. Saber Falhout, the Director General of Al-Quds International Foundation – Syria, Dr. Khalaf Al-Muftah, a number of members of the central leadership of the Arab Socialist Ba’ath Party, the ambassadors and diplomatic missions accredited in Damascus, the Palestinian regional leadership of the Arab Socialist Ba’ath Party, leaders and representatives of Palestinian factions, Syrian and Palestinian national parties, and social and cultural activities.
