The Palestinian Presidency: The international community must pressure the occupation to end its criminal practices
The Palestinian presidency called on the international community to pressure the Israeli occupation to end its criminal practices and violations of the rights of the Palestinian people and their families and to work to ensure that there is no impunity for crimes committed against the Palestinians.
The Presidency indicated in a statement today, carried by Wafa Agency, that detention is a systematic policy practiced by the occupation with the aim of consolidating apartheid and colonialism in occupied Palestine, stressing the support of the Palestinian people and presidency full for the prisoners who are subjected to various forms of physical and psychological torture in an attempt to break their will.
The Palestinian presidency called on human rights institutions and international organizations to work on releasing the prisoners, especially the sick ones and those on hunger strike, calling on the Palestinian people and all institutions to continue the national stands and activities in support of the prisoners in their confrontation with the Israeli occupation.
It is noteworthy that, until the end of last April, the number of prisoners in Israeli occupation detention centers reached 4700, including 170 children and 32 female prisoners.
