The living martyr Ghazwan Shalghin: My wounds are medals won on the battlefronts in defense of the homeland

Sweida (ST): The wounded fighter Ghazwan Shalghin served seven years in the ranks of the Syrian Arab Army with his comrades-in-arms in the face of terrorist organizations, during which he suffered multiple injuries that made him one of the living martyrs whose sacrifices and gifts the nation is proud of on the path that was lit by the pure blood of the martyrs.

Ghazwan, 30 years old, joined the mandatory service to perform his national duty in 2011. In his interview with news reporter, he tells how he traveled with his comrades on several fronts to restore security and safety to many areas and neighborhoods in Homs city, such as Baba Amr, al-Qarabis, Jouret al-Shayah and others, during which he sustained three injuries to his leg as a result of shrapnel from shells launched by treacherous terrorists and quickly recovered from them to return again to the trench of comrades-in-arms.

Ghazwan’s injury did not prevent him from returning to the side of his comrades on the fighting fronts with determination, only to suffer a broken leg again during one of the missions in Darayya, and after recovering, he returned again and joined his comrades. Later he was wounded by shrapnel while participating in the missions in Eastern Ghouta against armed terrorist organizations.

The wounds that Ghazwan counts as medals of pride culminated in the Haza area of Ghouta in 2018, with an injury that disfigured his left hand, followed by a stroke as a result of the injury.
