The Lebanese President assigns Mikati to form the new government
Lebanese President General Michel Aoun assigned the outgoing prime minister, Najib Mikati, to form the new government.
Mikati’s assignment came after 54 MPs approved his nomination, at the conclusion of the binding parliamentary consultations to nominate the prime minister, which took place at Baabda Palace this morning.
The Lebanese parliamentary elections took place on the fifteenth of last May.
