Tehran summons the charge d’affairs of the Swedish and Danish embassies in protest against the continued insult to the Holy Quran
Today, the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the charge d’affaires of the Swedish and Danish embassies in Tehran, and informed them of its strong protest against the continued insult to the Holy Quran.
The assistant of the General Department for Human Rights at the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the continued insult to the Holy Quran, in both Sweden and Denmark, holding the governments of these two countries fully responsible for the consequences of these dangerous actions.
The Iranian official called on representatives of Sweden and Denmark to adhere to international obligations, based on Articles 19 and 20 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.
The Iranian official said that governments such as Sweden and Denmark have not shown a serious will to confront hate speech and Islamophobia.
