Suwayda (ST) – With her skill and passion for manual work, Reem Jaafar succeeded in manufacturing handicrafts from klim thread and candles without traditional moulds within her micro-home project that she founded in the city of Suwayda.
Reem said that she makes various pieces from klim thread using a wool hook, including bags, baskets, children’s supplies, and household tools as the threads are woven well, with accessories, wood, and other materials inserted.
She is also good at making candles using materials available at home to make into moulds, such as cups and glass jars. She decorates the candles with drawings and phrases, or through inserting natural roses into some of the pieces.
“I buy the raw materials from the market and then, when the products are ready to sell, I work to market them directly either in participating in exhibitions or through social media”, she added
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of (Mahaba wa Wafa) Association in Suwayda, Faryal Al-Saleem, indicated that Reem participated in more than one exhibition held by the association, and her work received the admiration of visitors.
