Syria’s Humanitarian response operations for arrivals from Lebanon continue

Damascus(ST)-The humanitarian and medical response operations carried out by most official and non-governmental bodies for arrivals from Lebanon continue within the framework of responding to the repercussions of the ongoing Israeli aggression on Lebanon, as the cadres of the Ministry of Health are working to provide free emergency and treatment services to arrivals within the available capabilities.

The Ministry of Health said in a statement received by SANA today that the ministry provided 178,281 free medical services during 61 days, benefiting more than 65,000 arrivals, including 67,214 services through border crossings in the countryside of Damascus, Tartous and Homs, 108,021 services within shelter centers, 1,410 services in hospitals, and 1,636 ambulance transportation services.

The ministry explained that the services provided included general medical services, surgical and emergency operations, psychological and reproductive health, as well as services provided to those with chronic diseases, in addition to the necessary vaccines for children and the tetanus vaccine for women.

Since the first day of the Israeli aggression, the Syrian Ministry of Health has put all hospitals affiliated with its directorates in the border governorates with Lebanon on full readiness to receive any cases, and has provided the crossings with equipped ambulances 24 hours a day and sent necessary medicines and medical supplies.
