Syrian youth Mohammed Abu Bala among Stanford’s list of the top 2% of the world’s most influential scientists for the year 2024
Latakia (ST) – An unprecedented scientific achievement was recorded by the doctoral student in the field of “pure mathematics” at Tishreen University, Mohammed Abu Bala, after he was able to reserve a place for himself in the list of the top 2% of the world’s most influential scientists for the year 2024, according to the classification issued by Stanford University in the United States.
The achievement, which is considered of a high level of importance for a young Syrian, placed Abu Bala among the most prominent researchers in his field worldwide, thus demonstrating the scientific energies that Syria abounds with and the ability of the Syrians to make unique global achievements despite the difficult circumstances the country is going through.
Abu Bala expressed his pride in having his name included to become the first Syrian to achieve this global recognition in the category of “pure mathematics” and in his classification as one of the 10 most influential scientists around the world in the theory of rings, and in the contribution of this achievement to Tishreen University’s entry for the first time in this list in all specializations and at the level of Syria in the specialization of pure mathematics.
