Syrian Taekwondo player Shams Ahmad wins bronze medal in the World Championship for Universities in Russia
The Syrian Taekwondo player Shams Ahmad won the bronze medal in the World University Taekwondo Championships being held Russia.
Head of the Syrian Taekwondo Federation Sharief Deiraki told SANA that the Syrian athlete’s participation in the World University Championship was done through the National Union of Syrian Students, noting that Shams Ahmad is a player of the Syrian team and she is a student at Al-Baath University in Homs.
Shams Ahmad is the most distinguished player in the team and she has won several medals in local and Arab tournaments, Deiraki added.
He pointed out that the athlete was prepared for the tournament through an internal training camp that lasted for a month under the supervision of Coach Tammam Al-Nuqqari.
