CAPITALS, (ST) – Students and members of the Syrian community in Cuba affirmed that the Syrian people have proven throughout their history that they do not accept defeat, and they have thwarted all the conspiracies that targeted Syria’s sovereignty, dignity and unity.
A statement by the students and the Syrian community in Cuba on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of Evacuation Day, said that the battle for independence and the battle of our people today in the face of the global terrorism imposed on Syria is one battle.
“Our heroic people and army are fighting against a military and economic terrorist war targeting all segments of the Syrian people to undermine Syria, its sovereignty and its independent decision,” the statement added.
The statement pointed out that the current developments in the region and the world and the new shift in the Arab and international stances towards Syria confirm the correctness of Syria’s decision to defend its land and sovereignty.
The students and members of the community affirmed their support for their people and their heroic army and are renewing their pledge to continue carrying the message of evacuation with all honesty to defend the nation’s pride and dignity.
In turn, the Federation of Syrian Expatriates in Sweden and Europe organized a festive event for the Evacuation Day, which was attended by a number of heads and members of the Syrian expatriate associations in Sweden.
The speeches delivered during the celebration emphasized the greatness and the sublime meaning of the Evacuation Day and the departure of the last French colonizer from the homeland. They stressed that Syria, which won the global terrorist war that targeted the country, will return stronger than it was thanks to the sacrifices of its army and people and the wisdom of its leadership.
In Slovakia, the Syrian students affirmed that the commemoration of the great Evacuation Day proves once again that the sacrifices of the predecessors in the past and the sacrifices of the Syrian Arab Army today in the face of terrorism, occupation, challenges and Western coercive measures are a continuous struggle in which the Syrians affirm their refusal to submit to pressure.
The National Union of Syrian Students, Slovakia branch, said in a statement today on the occasion of the Evacuation Day (independence): Evacuation marked the beginning of a new phase of struggle,to consolidate the foundations of independence and building the strong homeland.
Dr. Ali Asaad, Head of the Slovak branch of the National Union of Syrian Students stressed that “the evacuation epic is becoming increasingly important in our lives today, because its anniversary comes at a time when we strengthen our response to those who try to subdue and destroy us”.
