Syrian Doctor Receives Best Clinical Presentation at Diabetic Foot Conference in Los Angeles

Syrian doctor Abdul Razzak Abdul Aziz, General Surgery and Diabetic Foot Surgery Specialist from the General Authority of Damascus Hospital, received the Best Clinical Presentation Award at the annual Diabetic Foot Conference of the American Society for Limb Preservation in Los Angeles, California, USA.

In a statement to SANA correspondent, Dr. Abdul Aziz explained that his presentation was a summary of two published researchers on the management and treatment of diabetic foot during the crisis period in Syria. The presentation included  the obstacles that the medical sector suffers from during crises in terms of the shortage of medical supplies and the overcrowding of patients in hospitals.

Dr. Abdul Razzak stated that the presentation was among 85 presentations from various countries of the world and presented on behalf of the General Authority of Damascus Hospital, noting that it was the first article that dealt with the reality of diabetic foot care in disaster situations and the development of low-cost materials for the treatment of diabetic foot.

It is noteworthy that Dr. Abdul Razzak Abdul Aziz is a specialist in treatment and surgery of diabetic foot, a member of the European Society of Wounds, supervisor of the Diabetic Foot Center at the General Authority of Damascus Hospital, a representative of Syria in the International Diabetic Foot Group, a member of the American Society for the Preservation of Limbs, a lecturer at the American Conference for several years, and the Secretary of the Syrian Association of Diabetic Foot.‏
