Syrian and Palestinian Visual Artists organize a stand in rejection of the Israeli aggression on Gaza

The Syrian and Palestinian Fine Artists Union in Damascus and a number of governorates organized solidarity vigils in support of the Palestinian people and in rejection of the Zionist entity’s aggression against the besieged Gaza Strip.

In Damascus, during the stand held in Al-Riwaq Al-Arabi Hall, the participants denounced the crimes committed by the Zionist enemy against innocent civilians and further denounced the occupation’s actions that contradict human rights and international laws.

The head of the Syrian Fine Artists Union, Irfan Abu Al-Shamat, explained that the Zionist occupation and its sponsor, the United States of America, are committing the most heinous crimes against the Palestinian people, stressing that the visual artists in Syria stand with the Palestinian people against the crimes of the usurping occupation until victory is achieved and Palestine is liberated.

The head of the Damascus Union branch, Maha Mahfoud, indicated that the visual artists in Syria affirm their position with the option of resistance so as to restore usurped Arab rights.

Palestinian visual artist Moataz Al-Omari stated that Syrian and Palestinian artists stand in one trench in service of one cause, affirming their firm position on the Palestinian issue.

The head of the Damascus Countryside Union, Suhail Abu Hamdan, stated that the solidarity stance with besieged Gaza is an appreciation for the sacrifices made by the Palestinian people against the treacherous Zionist enemy.

In Deir ez-Zor, the Union branch carried out a solidarity stand at the Arab Cultural Center in the city, in which participants carried placards containing expressions of condemnation of the practices of the Zionist occupation, and support for the Palestinian resistance and the Al-Aqsa Flood operation.
 The head of the Union branch, Eid Al-Nazhan, pointed out that this stance comes in rejection of the crimes of the Zionist occupation against the Palestinian people, and the targeting of hospitals and children.

In Hama, the two branches of the Union of Craftsmen and Plastic Artists organized in front of their headquarters in the city a solidarity stand in rejection and denunciation of the Zionist occupation, whose brutal crimes and massacres against the people of Gaza exceeded all humanitarian norms and international conventions.

The head of the Craftsmen Union branch, Imad Sheikh Taha, confirmed that the craftsmen in Hama stand with their brothers in Gaza and Palestine and with the free peoples against the Israeli war and terrorism machine until victory is achieved and the usurped rights and lands are restored.

The head of the Fine Artists Union branch, Fawaz Maarawi, said: The ferocious, barbaric attacks launched by the Zionist occupier against innocent people in the Gaza Strip indicate its criminal and terrorist nature and its aggressive practices against humans and stones. Such attacks will remain a disgrace for all humanity.

In Aleppo, the Artists Syndicate branch and the Fine Artists Union branch carried out a solidarity stand at the Arts Syndicate headquarters, where the head of the Artists Syndicate branch, Abdel Halim Hariri, stated that today’s stand is in solidarity with the resisting Palestinian people in Gaza, explaining that the Palestinian resistance operations are a reaction to the Israeli criminal practices against the people of the Gaza Strip.

The head of the Fine Artists Union branch, Youssef Mawlawi, said: “Today, we affirm our support for the Palestinian resistance and our solidarity with those besieged in Gaza,” calling on the international community to intervene quickly to stop the criminal Israeli violations against the Palestinian people and holy sites.

In Daraa, the head of the Union branch, Nabil Abu Nabout, confirmed that the visual artists stand today in solidarity with Gaza and its people who are resisting the Israeli occupation which is committing war crimes against innocent civilians.

In Sweida, a number of plastic artists expressed their solidarity with the Palestinian people, during a stand in front of the building of the Union of Plastic Artists branch. The stand included the display of seven artistic paintings with a variety of topics. Some expressed the suffering of the Palestinian people and the crimes of the occupation, and others showed the history and civilization of Palestine.
