Syria affirmed its keen follow-up on the decision issued today by the extraordinary session of the Council of the League of Arab States, noting that the next stage requires an effective and constructive Arab approach on the bilateral and collective levels.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said in a statement “Syria has followed the positive trends and interactions that are currently taking place in the Arab region, which it believes are in the interest of all Arab countries, and in the interest of achieving stability, security and prosperity for its people.”
The Ministry added: “In this context, Syria received with interest the decision issued by the meeting of the Council of the League of Arab States in its extraordinary session at the level of foreign ministers held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League on May 7, 2023, regarding the resumption of the participation of delegations of the government of the Syrian Arab Republic in the meetings of the League Council, and all affiliated organizations and agencies, as of today.”
The Ministry continued: “Syria stresses in the same context the importance of dialogue and joint action to confront the challenges facing Arab countries.”
The Ministry concluded its statement by saying: Syria, the founding member of the League of Arab States, renews its continuous position on the need to strengthen joint Arab work and cooperation, and affirms that the next stage requires an effective and constructive Arab approach on the bilateral and collective levels based on the basis of dialogue, mutual respect and common interests of the Arab nation.
