Syria obtains silver medal in the International Mendeleev Chemistry Olympiad (IMO) in China

Syria has won a silver medal in the International Mendeleev Chemistry Olympiad (IMO) which was held in China between April 17th and 24th, 2024.

The medal came through the student Solama Omran who ranked 36th out of 151 participants in this international Olympiad in which 151 students from 26 countries took part, according to the Distinction and Creativity Agency.

The agency pointed that the competitions of this Olympiad included 3 high level theoretical and practical tests in chemistry that match the level of the participating elite group of students.

The participating Syrian team comprised, in addition to Solama Omran, the students Alaa Ahmad Athan, Zeinab Ali Fares and Zeinab Mouyad Hasan.
