Syria, Iran discuss joint media cooperation

Damascus, (ST)- Minister of Information Boutros Al-Hallaq and the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Syria Hussein Akbari reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries, especially in the media field and means of developing and enhancing media cooperation.

During the meeting, the two sides stressed the strong relations between the two countries, which are based on strong foundations and principles.

Minister Al-Hallaq said that the relations between Syria and Iran are strong and based on moral and humanitarian values ​​that bind the two peoples.

He clarified that the media should keep up with political relations.

The Minister of Information stressed that targeting the resistance is not targeting a specific country, rather it is a comprehensive targeting.

He pointed out that the danger of the media lies in its ability to influence and change the trends of public opinion, because the war on the axis of resistance was represented in different aspects and methods.

Minister Al-Hallaq affirmed that there is coordination between the Syrian and Iranian media outlets to confront the hostile campaigns against the two countries.

He pointed out that the position of Syria regarding the challenges facing the axis of resistance is not only a political position, but a humanitarian, moral and existential position, and a position of truth and faith.

The Minister of Information stressed the necessity of establishing joint media projects, seminars and conferences during which common media topics are discussed.

He also discussed the necessity of forming a joint working team to follow up on aspects of cooperation between the two countries and keep pace with regional and international events in a way that serves the directions of the axis of resistance.

In turn, the Iranian ambassador said that the media has an important role in strengthening relations between the two countries and the two peoples, stressing that strengthening the political, economic and cultural relations requires coordination at all levels.

Ambassador Akbari added: There is pivotal cooperation and coordination between Syria and Iran in all fields and on all regional and international fronts. He stressed that Syria has a pivotal role and is a main pillar of resistance.

Ambassador Akbari stressed that the Palestinian issue has opened new horizons for the two countries, as many in the world know today that the position of Syria and Iran is the most correct.

The Iranian ambassador indicated that the axis of resistance should work to mobilize media capabilities, with the aim of forming a unified front at the media level to defend common interests, rights and positions based on truth.
