Syria condemns US occupation deadly attack on some areas in Deir Ezzor

Syria strongly condemns the US occupation aggression on some areas in Deir Ezzor countryside and stresses its commitment to ending the US occupation and reestablishing its sovereignty over the entire Syrian territory, calling on all countries of the world to condemn this aggression and stand in solidarity with Syria to preserve its national unity and territorial integrity, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said in a statement on Saturday.

The US occupation Thursday night conducted airstrikes against several areas in the Syrian province of Deir Ezzor, claiming the lives of a number of people, injuring scores of others and causing material damage.

“The US lies about the targeted sites are nothing but a failed attempt to justify this act of aggression and the flagrant violation of the sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of the Syrian Arab Republic,” the ministry clarified, pointing out that this aggression is a continuation of the attacks carried out by the Israeli occupation entity and the terrorists of “ISIS” against the Syrian people”.

The attack is a kind of smokescreen to cover the American occupation’s continued crimes of looting Syrian oil, the ministry added, pointing out that today, the US forces transferred 80 tankers loaded with stolen crude oil from the oilfields of the Syrian Al-Jazira region to the Iraqi territories via Al-Walid illegal crossing.
