“The Syrian Arab Republic condemns the failed coup attempt carried out by some military units of the Bolivian army, as well as those behind it, which took place in La Paz on 26 June, targeting the elected government of the Plurinational State of Bolivia headed by President Luis Arce Katakura,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said in a statement, a copy of which was received by SANA.
“Syria stresses the need to respect the legitimate constitutional order of Bolivia, maintain democratic and institutional stability, the rule of law and non-interference in the internal affairs of this friendly country,” the Ministry added.
The Ministry concluded the statement: “the Syrian Arab Republic expresses its support and stand with the legitimate Bolivian government headed by President Luis Arce democratically elected by the friendly Bolivian people, and once again calls on the arrogant countries and powers to respect the freedom of the peoples of Latin America, including the people of Bolivia to preserve their legitimate elected institutions.
