Syria, AAEA discuss cooperation in the face of challenges

Prime Minister Hussein Arnous and Director General of the Arab Atomic Energy Agency Salem Hamedi held a meeting on Tuesday in Damascus.

The meeting dealt with the role of the Arab Atomic Energy Agency in coordinating cooperation, in its field of work, between Arab countries and the agency’s role in providing expertise and scientific advice.

Talks also dealt with the need to strengthen the role of research centers and employ science to face the challenges which Arab countries and peoples are exposed to.

Focus during the meeting was put on the need to invest in the Arab mind and its creative capacity in various fields of economic, social and natural sciences and in the great potentials available to Arab countries.

Integration among Arab countries in the field of training and rehabilitation, strengthening joint Arab action, focusing on scientific and applied research that contributes to solving the problems facing the Arab countries, were also discussed with emphsis on the main role of the Arab League in the coordinating efforts.
