Jamil’s remarks came during the annual conference for Oil Workers’ Union.
“the ongoing crisis as regards providing citizens’ needs of oil is primarily attached to the economic embargo imposed on Syria and the terrorist attacks on oil pipelines ,”clarified Jamil
He called on speeding up a political solution through dialogue and reconciliation.
For their part ,the Union’s members made it clear that the armed groups caused the martyrdom of three workers, halted oil exploration plan since the beginning 2012 and suspended works at marble and stone quarries, not to mention preventing workers from going to their workplace in some areas.
“the terrorist groups targeted factories, facilities and infrastructure and consequently affected the production’s process,” said Chairman of Damascus Trade Union Jamal al-Qadri.
