Smidra second in Vienna Chess Championship

DAMASCUS,(ST)-, Smidra George, the outstanding Syrian chess player, has achieved a remarkable achievement  in the Vienna Chess Championship as she managed to came second .

“the nine-year-old athlete is due to be an up-and-coming Syrian player and definitely will boost the national team.We(the federation) are so proud of Smidra as she was able to hoist the flag of Syria at the international arena,”Dr.Hani Bitar,the Syrian Chess Federation chairman,told the Syria Times e-newspaper.
