Slovakia calls for intensified international diplomacy to stop the fire in Gaza Strip

Prague (ST)-Slovak Foreign Minister Juraj Planar denounced the brutal Israeli practices in the Gaza Strip.

Planar said in a TV interview last night: We are eyewitnesses to a devastating war in Gaza that has claimed the lives of thousands of people, caused enormous suffering for civilians, a humanitarian crisis and a violation of international humanitarian law. He called for intensifying international diplomacy to stop the fire in the Strip.

Planar stressed the need for the international community to exert greater pressure to resolve the conflict in the Middle East.

In a related context, the Czech Green Party held the international community responsible for the expansion of the conflict in the Middle East region.

The party said in a statement: The inaction of the international community and its failure to fulfill its legal and humanitarian responsibilities have led to the expansion of the conflict and removed the possibility of reaching peace in the Middle East.

The party said that the innocent civilian victims, especially in Gaza Strip, have reached tens of thousands and their numbers are growing every day.

The party criticized its country’s position, which obstructed the European Union’s adoption of the call for a ceasefire in Gaza, indicating that it was irresponsible and harmful to the long-term security interests of the Czech Republic and Europe.
