Cairo, (ST) – During a phone call on Wednesday, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and the UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for Syria Geir Pedersen discussed ways to resolve the crisis in Syria.
A spokesman for the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Abu Zeid, said according to the Egyptian media: “The two sides discussed the overall talks and contacts that were held over the past period, bycariuos concerned parties. Tgey also discussed ways to bridge the gap between the different positions in a way that brings visions regarding dealing with the crisis in Syria in a geadual way closer in order to solve this crisis and alleviate the suffering of the Syrian people.
Abu Zeid indicated that the two sides discussed means of working and coordinating between the Arab Ministerial Committee on Syria and the United Nations due to the harmony of efforts aimed at advancing a solution to the crisis.
