Reneva Fourier former president of the DCOS and at present secretary of the club spoke to Syriatimes
“On 12 November, from midday, the Damarose Hotel’s al Mutanabi Ballroom will be abuzz. On this auspicious day, the Diplomatic Club of Syria (DCOS) will host its Annual International Charity Bazaar.”
Reneva explains that the DCOS, comprised of spouses of and interested diplomats, is now fully re-established as an active entity. Its various events, which include an annual Women’s Brunch and Gala Dinner, have become highly sought-after.
The year 2022 was particularly specia,l Reneva stresses, as the First Lady, Mrs Asma al Assad, hosted its Executive Committee on International Women’s Day. Furthermore, the DCOS participated in a very successful International Women’s Film Festival.
However, the enchantment of the Annual International Charity Bazaar is unrivalled. The Bazaar allows for mingling between the Syrian people and the international community. Furthermore, the local community gets to enjoy the culture, cuisine and products of approximately twenty countries with diplomatic representation in Syria. The highlight of the Bazaar is the tombola.
Bazaar proceeds usually go to predetermined charitable associations. This year the DCOS is partnering with associations in Homs. On this occasion, these associations will also be showcasing their products.
Do not miss out on this opportunity to shop for something interesting from around the world or to win an exotic gift. The entrance and tombolo tickets are SYP 2000.00 each. Tickets can be purchased either from the Embassy of Indonesia, which now holds the Presidency or at the door.”
