Moscow (ST) , The Secretary General of the Italian League, Matteo Salvini, has rejected European sanctions on the Russian energy supplies. He said that this matter would harm Europe more than Russia.
“Russian gas and oil embargo, according to the data, harms Europe and Italy more for Russia sells its oil and gas to China and Asia while we have to turn off the heating devices and close the companies”, the Italian news agency Aki quoted Salvini after a meeting with prime Minister Mario Draghi.
Salvini indicated that Italy could not dispense with Russian gas for now.
The commissioner for the Foreign Policy in the European Union, Joseph Borrel, ruled out the speedy reach to a new patch of sanctions against Russia, including the embargo on the Russian oil.
