Moscow, Jun.13, (ST)- The Russian Foreign Ministry considered that France is ignoring Russia’s national interests and that the independent French role on the international scene has begun to decline, in reference to Paris’ subordination to US policy.
According to the RIA Novosti agency, Alexei Paramonov, the first director of the European Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, said that “Paris’s independent role in the world is not clear and is eroding and is being lost in the chorus of others’ voices.”
He indicated that Paris is not ready to listen to Moscow’s security concerns, adding, “Our French opponents are not yet ready to listen to our warnings, which we have been calling for many years, about the inadmissibility of Russia’s basic national interests, including in the field of defense and security in Europe.”
