Russian Embassy in Washington: Accusations of Russian interference in the US elections are slander

The Russian embassy in Washington has described the accusations of Moscow’s interference in the US presidential election as just malicious slander and another lie.

“These allegations are just another lie, as none of the US officials have provided evidence to prove the veracity of this story being promoted in the media,” the embassy said in a statement today, Sputnik reported.

The statement added :” All hints about “Russian conspiracies” are malicious fabrications invented to be used in the internal political struggle taking place in the US”. The statement pointed out that before every election, US authorities and the media fall into a state of hysteria about Russian disinformation and interference, which has already become a bad tradition.

The embassy’s statement came in response to a US intelligence statement accusing Moscow of distributing fabricated videos about election violations in the United States.

Russia has repeatedly denied US accusations of interference in US affairs. The Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov described the allegations as completely unfounded, while Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said there were no facts to support the claims about Russia’s alleged interference in elections in any foreign country.
