Moscow, (ST) – The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations announced on Tuesday the dispatch of a fifth plane carrying 14.6 tons of humanitarian relief aid to the earthquake-affected people in Syria.
The Syrian embassy in Moscow said: This shipment, which was collected and sorted by the embassy cader, was provided by the Syrian community and the friendly Russian people.
Last Thursday, a Russian aid plane arrived at Lattakia Airport, loaded with about 20 tons of relief materials, provided by the Syrian Embassy in Moscow to support those affected by the earthquake that struck Syria on the sixth of last February.
The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations had previously published a schedule for sending ten cargo planes to transport aid provided by the Syrian community and the Russian friends to those affected by the earthquake, with the last plane heading to Syria on the 25th of April.
Russian aid plane arrives at Lattakia International Airport
Meanwhile, an aid plane provided by the Russian Federation for those affected by the earthquake arrived at Lattakia International Airport today.
The Director of Lattakia Airport, Eng. Ziyad Al-Taweel, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the plane was carrying 14.6 tons of relief aid, with the aim of helping those affected by the earthquake in the stricken areas.
Syrian Red Crescent receives a shipment of medical aid coming from Kenya
On the other hand, the Syrian Arab Red Crescent this morning received a shipment of medical aid, which arrived at Damascus International Airport on board a plane coming from Kenya.
SANA reporter stated that the plane was loaded with 40 tons of medical and humanitarian aid to support those affected by the earthquake.
