Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has ordered the parties concerned to implement the amended “reciprocal response law” to Washington’s decision to place Iran’s Revolutionary Guards on the US terrorism list.
The Iranian News Agency IRNA reported that the law provides for the classification of the US Central Command “Centcom” and all the forces and institutions under it on the list of terrorism, in the context of reciprocating the decision or the action of the United States of America that aims at undermining regional and international peace and security.
Contradicting international laws, Washington deliberately took the decision by classifying the Revolutionary Guards as an “external terrorist organization”, in contrast to Article 150 of the Iranian constitution, which describes the Revolutionary Guards as one of the pillars of the country’s defense power, IRNA added.
The leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran Ali Khamenei confirmed last April that the American administration’s decision to enlist the Iranian Revolutionary Guard as “terrorist organization ” shows the state of confusion experienced by this administration, stressing that the Revolutionary Guard is the most frontline and prominent institution in confronting the enemy in various fields.
