Raisi: The current US administration has not shown any compensatory step for the behavior of its predecessor
New York (ST): Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi affirmed that the current US administration claims to oppose the previous administration’s decisions regarding the nuclear agreement with Iran, but so far there has been no practical and serious step that shows compensation for past behavior and lifting the unjust sanctions.
The Iranian news agency IRNA quoted Raisi as saying during his meeting with Swiss President Guy Parmelin on the sidelines of the 77th meeting of the United Nations General Assembly in New York: “The problem with the nuclear file is that the Americans do not take a decision, stressing that America is the one who withdrew from the nuclear agreement, not Iran.” Although Iran has fulfilled its obligations, the Western parties have not fulfilled any of their commitments.
Raisi stressed that despite 40 years of pressure and sanctions, Iran has not stopped, but rather progressed, and thus the sanctions policy has lost its effectiveness.
For his part, Parmlin stressed the need to increase bilateral cooperation, improve trade relations and remove obstacles that prevent their deepening.
