Pro-Palestine protesters organize a stand inside a British bank that provides assistance to the Israeli occupation

Pro-Palestine activists carried out a protest stand inside a building housing the offices of the British bank “Barclays” in Birmingham, condemning the bank’s financing of Israeli arms companies.

The participants condemned the bank’s financing of the genocidal war waged by the Israeli occupation entity against the Palestinian people, especially in Gaza Strip, and held a banner reading “Barclays finances Elbit and Israel is killing”.

The pro-Palestine Solidarity Campaign announced that  Barclays Bank is providing 6.1 billion pounds in loans and subscriptions to nine companies whose weapons, components and military technologies are used by “Israel” in its attacks on Palestinians.

This includes an investment of 100 million pounds in “General Dynamics”, which produces weapons systems that arm the fighter jets used by” Israel ” to bomb Gaza, as well as investment in “Elbit Systems”, which produces armored drones, ammunition and artillery weapons used by the Israeli occupation forces.

“By providing investment and financial services to these arms companies, Barclays Bank is facilitating the provision of weapons and technology for Israeli attacks on Palestinians,” the campaign said, calling for a boycott of all Barclays services until the bank ends its serious complicity in Israeli attacks on Palestinians.
