President Bashar al-Assad congratulated the Christian denominations that follow the Western calendar on the occasion of the glorious Easter, wishing them and all Syrians continued health, prosperity and peace.
Mansour Azzam, Minister of Presidency Affairs, conveyed President Al-Assad’s congratulations to Youssef al-Absi, Patriarch of Antioch and All the East for the Melkite Roman Catholics, Mar Yohanna Jihad Battah, Syriac-Catholic Archbishop of Damascus, ArmashNalbandian, Archbishop of Damascus for the Armenian Orthodox, and Joseph Arnaouti, Archbishop of Damascus for the Armenian Catholics, Reverend Boutros Zaour, President of the Evangelical Synod in Syria and Lebanon and Spiritual Head of the National Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Damascus, His Eminence Bishop Samir Nassar, Head of the Maronite Archbishop of Damascus, Father Firas Lutfi, Head of the Latin Community in Damascus, and Monsignor Antoine Ghazzi, Vice President of the Chaldean Community in Syria, and to the people of their sects Honorable Easter.
In their turn, the heads of the Christian denominations expressed their thanks to President Al-Assad for congratulating them on this occasion, wishing him and all Syrians good health and wellness.
They stressed that the unity of the Syrians and their love for one another was manifested in their solidarity in facing the catastrophe of the earthquake that struck Syria.
They prayed to God to protect Syria, its people, and its leadership, and to have mercy on its martyrs and heal its wounded.
The stressed that the steadfastness of the sons of the one Syrian family will restore security and stability throughout it.
