President al-Assad urges newly-appointed governors to meet citizens’ interests with alacrity

President Bashar al-Assad has urged the newly-appointed governors of Homs, Quneitra, Daraa and Hasaka to do their best to develop the governorates and utilities sectors and to meet citizens’ interests in an optimal manner.  
 
He also asserted that the governor plays a key role as he represents the central authority and supervises central local bodies as well as preserves security within the boundaries of the governorate.
 
The president’s remark came during his meeting today with the newly-appointed governors, who were sworn in before him.
 
On May, 30, 2020, the president issued several decrees appointing new governors of Sewida, Quneitra, Homs, Daraa and Hasaka.
 
Decree No. 127 for 2020 ends the assignment of Amer Ibrahim al-Ashi as Sweida Governor and appoints Humam Sadeq Dbeiyat, Quneitra Governor, as the new Governor of Sweida
 
Decree No.128 for 2020 ends the mission of Mr. Bassam Mamdouh Barseek as Assistant Tourism Minister, and appoints him as the new Governor of Homs.
 
President Al-Assad also issued Decree No. 129 for 2020 appointing Mr. Mohammad Tarek Zeyad Kreishati as Governor of Quneitra.
 
 Decree No. 130 for 2020 ends the assignment of Mohammad Khaled Hanous as Daraa Governor and appoints Mr. Marwan Ibrahim Sharbak as the new Governor of the province.
 
Also, Decree No. 131 for 2020 provides for appointing Mr. Ghassan Halim Khalil as Governor of Hasaka after ending the assignment of Mr. Jaez Swada al-Hmoud al-Mousa as Hasaka Governor.
