President al-Assad receives verbal message from Iraqi PM on political and security coordination

DAMASCUS, (St)_President Bashar al-Assad received on Wednesday the Iraqi Prime Minister’s Envoy and chairman of the Popular Mobilization Committee Falih al-Fayyadh.

Al-Fayyad conveyed a verbal message to the president from the Iraqi PM Mustafa al-Kazemi on enhancing bilateral cooperation in all fields, the continuity of coordination as regards political and security developments in the region, fighting terrorism and border security.

During the meeting, the two sides talked about the constant coordination between Syria and Iraq in fighting ISIS terrorists and other terrorist organizations and the victories achieved by the armies of the two countries despite the big support that has been offered to the terrorist organizations over the past years.

They affirmed the need to eliminate terrorism which the Syrian and Iraqi peoples are still suffering from.

In addition, the two sides discussed the economic and security challenges that face the region and the dangerous foreign plots that require a strong cooperation between the region’s countries to foil them.
