President Al-Assad receives congratulations from Presidents of Armenia and Sri Lanka on his reelection

President Bashar Al-Assad on Saturday received congratulatory cables from President Armen Sargsyan of Armenia and President Gotabaya Rajapaksa of Sri Lanka on the occasion of his reelection as President of the Syrian Arab Republic.

The two leaders extended their heartfelt congratulations to President Al-Assad and wished peace and prosperity to prevail in Syria.

President Sargsyan said that he is sure that the Armenian-Syrian relations, which are based on mutual respect and cooperation, will witness notable development that serves the interests of the peoples of the two countries.

 On his part, President of Sri Lanka said in his cable “your country has faced unprecedented challenges and your re election is a chance for rebuilding Syria and leading it towards a prosperous future.”

He stressed that Sri Lanka and Syria maintain close friendship relations that should be enhanced for the benefit of the peoples in both countries.
