President Al-Assad receives a congratulatory cable from the Chinese President on the occasion of his winning the presidential elections

 On June 1st, President Bashar Al-Assad received a congratulatory cable from Chinese President Xi Jinping on the occasion of his election as President of the Syrian Arab Republic.

In his telegram, the Chinese president said that his country and Syria enjoy traditional friendly relations, and that Syria is one of the first Arab countries to establish diplomatic relations with the People’s Republic of China.

President Xi Jinping said that: “He attaches great importance to developing Chinese-Syrian relations and is ready to work with President Al-Assad to mark the 65th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations.”

 

President Xi Jinping added that his country strongly supports Syria in protecting its national sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity.

President Xi Jinping said that he will provide the largest possible assistance to Syria in combating the “Covid-19” epidemic, revitalizing its economy and improving Chinese-Syrian cooperation.
