DAMASCUS, (ST)- President Bashar Al-Assad has stressed that liberating the abductees is not only a humanitarian issue, it is also a national one, stressing that the Syrian state won’t abandon any of the kidnapped or missing persons and it will liberate them all whatever the cost is if they are still alive.
President Al-Assad was speaking during a meeting with a number of the abductees’ families whose sons were not among those who have been released from Douma over the past two days. He affirmed that the abductees’ file is a priority for the Syrian state with all its institutions, noting that the state has spared no effort and will do its best to know the fate of all the abductees.
The process of liberating abductees from Douma and from other Syrian areas wouldn’t have been achieved without the sacrifices of the heroes of the Syrian Arab Army, who offered their lives to liberate the land from terrorism and to free the kidnapped persons.
On their part, families of the abductees said “we greatly and firmly trust the state and its efforts to know the fate of our sons.”
