President Al-Assad issues a decree disbursing a grant of 150,000 Syrian pounds for civil and military state employees, pensioners

President Bashar al-Assad issued today Legislative Decree No. 5 of 2023 stipulating the disbursement of a one-time financial grant of a lump sum of 150,000 Syrian pounds to civil and military state employees and pensioners.
Based on the provisions of the Constitution, President Bashar al-Assad issued his directives for dispursing a one-time grant of a lump sum of 150,000 Syrian Pounds, which shall be paid to each and every state employee working for the Syrian state within the territory of the Syrian Arab Republic in ministries, administrations, public institutions, public sector companies and establishments, all administrative units, popular work, confiscated companies and establishments, and private sector schools, and other public sector entities, as well as joint sector entities, in which the state’s contribution is not less than 75% of its capital, and those recruited into the army and armed forces.
Included in the grant are the day-to-day, permanent, and temporary workers, whether they are casual, seasonal, contractors under contracts of employment, appointed by rating tables, by invoice, or by the bonus system as well as workers on part-time basis or on the basis of production or fixed and variable wages.
A one-time grant of a lump sum of 150,000 Syrian Pounds shall be paid to military and civil pensioners covered by the insurance, pension and social security laws in force.
The grant stipulated in this Legislative Decree shall be exempted from salary income tax or any other deductions.
